PLEASE PASS THE FRUIT

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalms 1:3

     My wife and I have a hand-carved candle from Germany. It was beautiful but there is a problem.  It is not a real candle.  It is hollow and the top is fake.  If it were not so old I would think it was made to smuggle contraband into the country.  It is now faded and kind of sad looking.  Sad especially because it can never be used as a candle.  Anything that cannot be used for the purpose for which it was created is wasted.

     Did you ever think about the reason God created us?

     Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)

     We are created for His pleasure.  Therefore, when we live for our pleasure we fail and do not fulfill the purpose for which we are created.

     For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:9-10)

     A mark of those who are happy is fruitfulness.
