PLEASE EXCUSE THE NEGATIVITY

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

     In college I was taught to avoid negativity when preaching.  I agree that too often preachers spend more time on the “Thou shalt not’s” and not enough on the “Thou shalt’s.”   However, there are verses in God’s Word that are negative.  Here is a description of the wicked.  They are driven away by the wind and will not stand either in judgment or the congregation of the righteous.

     The truth is that God will not put up with wickedness.  His mercy is great and His judgment often slow but there will come a time when all things will be made right.

     I’m glad God is keeping the records and that His judgment decisions are fair and right.  This realization should drive us to good and righteous living which, in turn, results in His blessing. (See the previous devotional)
