THE GREAT CONTRAST

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalms 1:6

Look at the word “knoweth” in this verse.  The Lord recognizes, watches over, understands, sympathizes with, empathizes with, and concerns Himself with the way of the righteous.  What a wonderful thought.  My path in life is something with which the God of the universe concerns Himself.

Recently one of my heroes in the ministry, Dr. R. Zeno Groce, came to our evening service to hear me preach.  Brother Groce is in his mid-eighties and is retired from the pastorate after preaching in one church for forty-six years.  He has been an influence and a positive example to me for thirty-six years.  I was thrilled that he would concern himself with me and want to hear me preach.

I multiply that about trillion times and that is what it means that God knows our way.  He loves us; is concerned about us; wants His best for us; and desires to be with us.  What a wonderful God we serve.

Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Psalms 40:5
