Paradise! What a wonderful word! And it conjures up all kinds of beautiful images in our minds. The actual Greek word means “Walled Garden.” Whatever our eternal Paradise actually looks like the main attraction is the presence of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
God has, from the beginning, had one great desire: To be with His people. He made the Garden of Eden so that He could come down and walk with Adam in the cool of the day. Because of Adam’s sin he was cast out of the garden. God then instituted the ministry of the Tabernacle. God dwelt in the Holy of Holies and His people encamped round about the courtyard so that He could be with His people. The Tabernacle served its purpose and God gave the plans for the Temple where He lived right in the midst of His people. When Jesus died and arose from the grave on that first Easter morning the veil in the temple was rent down the middle signifying that God moved out. In 1 Corinthians 6:19 we read, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” God dwells in the believer because He wants to be with His people. On the night before Jesus was crucified He said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:2-3) GOD WANTS TO BE WITH HIS PEOPLE!! What a glorious thought!
That place, prepared for us, is the eternal Heaven to which we look forward.
I hope you are enjoying the HEAVEN study!

About Pastor's Sunday School Class
The Pastor's Sunday School Class actually started out as the Young Married's Sunday School Class. Now, many years later, the original group are "Mature Marrieds" while a good number of newcomers have been added. It is a mixture of the young and "the seasoned."
As the name suggests, the class is taught by the pastor. No printed literature is used because every lesson is written by the teacher. A combination of sound Bible teaching with an emphasis on practical Christian living and good Christian fellowship along with fresh ground coffee makes this class a unique learning experience.
If you are visiting this page we hope you will also visit our class. We are located at 4911 Old Rural Hall Road, Winston Salem, NC. We meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 AM.
If you are a member of this class, pass this page along to your friends and invite them to join us as we fellowship and study together.
